<title>Gaming Grants Increased and Grant Sectors Reinstated</title>
<description>The Province has increased gaming grants by $15 million to a total of $135 million, beginning this fiscal year, Premier Christy Clark announced on January 11, 2012. In addition, funding has been reinstated for eligible adult arts and sports organizations, environmental groups and animal welfare agencies. Applications from these groups will be accepted during a special intake period: Jan. 16 – Feb. 13, 2012.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

<title>Studies Confirm Benefits of Voluntary Self-Exclusion Program</title>
<description>Two independent reviews indicate BCLC's Voluntary Self Exclusion (VSE) program is effective and provide recommendations to further strengthen the program.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
In 2007, BCLC contracted the BC Centre for Social Responsibility (BCCSR) to conduct a four year longitudinal evaluation of the effectiveness of the VSE program from the perspective of its participants.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
In late 2010, the Gaming Policy and Enforcement Branch and BCLC asked the Responsible Gambling Council (RGC) Centre for the Advancement of Best Practices, a Toronto-based agency, to conduct a review of BCLC's VSE program and compare to best practices.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;

The Community Gaming Grant Review will examine the role of government in allocating gaming revenue with input from charities, community members, industry representatives and local government.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;
